between the roads of Umbria ...
From Valnerina to Castelluccio

The Valnerina is the area to the south-east of Umbria and is approximately 55 minutes away from the Hotel by car. It features series of valleys and plateaus inhabited since prehistoric times. The landscape, as well as evidencing this passage of history, reveals verdant vistas that culminate in the stunning scenery of the National Park of Monti Sibillini

Norcia
In around 55 minutes from Villa Zuccari you will be able to reach this magnificent part of the countryside. Highly recommended is a visit to the city of Norcia, behind which rise the Sibillini Mountains. Norcia is the largest city in the Valnerina Valley and its origins go back to the Punic wars between the Romans and the Phoenicians. Its fame is mainly due to the birth of a person of great religious significance, St. Benedict, who was the first monk of Christianity and founder of the Benedictine Order. This important link with religion inspired one of the most beautiful castles in Italy, La Castellina, which was the seat of the Apostolic Governors and was built in the middle of the 1500s.

Besides the monuments of great artistic and historical relevance, Norcia and the Valnerina Valley are perfectly suited above all for trekking lovers and walkers. The plains of Castelluccio offer a truly unique spectacle, particularly during spring (the end of May / beginning of June) when the meadows are in bloom and assumes a tone made up of a thousand different colours all fused together.

Castelluccio
Castelluccio di Norcia is a plateau located in the southern part of the National Park of Monti Sibillini, which was formed from a lake that had dried-up in prehistoric times. Here are cultivated the most famous and appreciated lentils in Italy, strictly organic, of small size and unmistakable taste.
