Perugia
The city consists of 5 historical quarters enclosed by walls dating back to Etruscan times. Much older than Rome, Perugia has among the most important monuments and events in Italy, which attract many tourists from all over the world throughout the year. Highly recommended are a visit to the Palazzo dei Priori, the Cathedral and the Fontana Maggiore, that date to the 13th century. Corso Vannucci, which extends across the entire city, is the main street, and is the perfect place for shopping or for a stroll. At the far end of Corso Vannucci, marked by the Palazzo dei Priori, you will find the Rocca Paolina built by Pope Paolo III in 1540. Within the Palazzo dei Priori, on the first floor, is situated the National Gallery of Umbria with masterpieces by Piero della Francesca, il Perugino, il Pinturicchio and many others. Directions
Perugia is only 45 minutes away by car from Villa Zuccari. Going north, follow signs to Trevi (SP447) for about 4Km until you get to the roundabout, and from here follow the SS3 Flaminia north towards Perugia. After about 11Km take the exit towards Perugia / Foligno Nord (SS75). Continue along the SS75 for about 25 Km and then take the exit for Firenze-Roma / Perugia / A1. Merge onto the SS3bis after a few kilometres and you will be able to enter Perugia at either the Perugia-Piscille exit or Perugia-Prepo.
